TAI-PAN OF AA ApHC 68,532

(Tai-Pan at age 24)
Tai-Pan was born May 10, 1966 on the Double A Ranch of Matt and Laura Boggio. His sire was Whistle Britches, and his dam was Speckled Trout. Tai-Pan was purchased as a 2 year old by Woodland Acres, in Minnesota and was trained and shown by them until the age of 7.
At the age of 7, he was purchased by Shaffer's Appaloosas in Indiana, who owned him until his death. He won and placed in many classes as an 8 year old in Western Pleasure, English Pleasure, Reining and Barrels, as well as wins in halter and jumping. He was trained to 1st Level Dressage and loved to traverse a Cross Country Course we used for training....but his real value was not as a show horse but as my personal riding buddy and best friend.
Tai-Pan was shown from the age of 4 until the age of 8 in a variety of western and english classes:

Tai-Pan did double duty as a sire and as a riding horse for many years, until he was leased to Raindrop Acres in Greene, NY in 1983. Tai-Pan then served as sire and farrier lesson horse for 10 years. In 1993, Tai-pan returned home to Indiana, and at the age of 27, bred five mares. Tai-Pan broke his leg while in pasture with his mares that summer and was humanly destroyed on July 7, 1993 at 12:30 PM.
