DNA, RNA and Protein Synthesis Activity

The first part of the activity is mainly meant to be a review over the structure and history of DNA.

The second part of the activity illustrates how the order of nucleotides in DNA determines the order of amino acids in proteins. It reinforces the concept that any change in the order of nucleotides can change the order of amino acids in proteins.

The third part of the activity will allow you to transcribe a sequence of DNA in order to make a protein by using a computer model. By doing this, you will learn about nucleic acids, how they form base pairs, and undergo translation.
