Week ending 8-31-07:  noun,  verb,  pronoun,  adverb,  adjective,  antecedent,  article,  preposition,  interjection,  conjunction,  gerund,  acronym,  abbreviation,  clause,  contraction,  subject,  predicate,  sentence,  apostrophe,  direct object

Journal:

#1:  Write four different sentences telling Mrs. M. something she should know about you.  Be sure to vary your beginnings, use five or more seventh grade words and be creative.

#2:  Write ten different sentences about significant events in your life.  Be sure to include a date (month or season) and year in your sentence.  (see Life Map project)

#3 - 10 minute writing - Describe your favorite food without naming it.  How does it taste, smell, feel like?  What does it look like, use colors and textures in the descriptive piece.

#4 - 10 minute writing - What is more important, brains or brawn?  Don't ride the fence, I want a specific choice and support for your opinion.  The best pieces will include an accounting of a personal experience either lived or observed.

#5 - Would you want to live for eternity?  Make sure that you give three strong statements or examples to support your opinion.
