In The Organized Home Schooler Caruana uses personal illustrations, research, and the Bible to provide principles and ideas for organizing the home school. Although she provides basic organizational information that readers might find in other books, she tailors the approach to the unique challenges that home schoolers face by addressing paperwork, teaching materials, and training children to be organized. She provides an index and a list of helpful resources.
Caruana, a home schooler and home school conference speaker, writes in a conversational style. Though she takes a few scriptural passages out of context, her principles could prevent frustration in many home schoolers. She ends each chapter with a check-off list, but it is not always clear why she categorizes her points as she does.
I recommend this book for churches or libraries that serve home schoolers because I would have found it helpful when I was home schooling. --Debbie W. Wilson, appeared in Church Libraries, spring 2002
